The feel of cars on mixed surfaces (and how long they keep the grit sound on the underbody after you get back onto a clean road) is so good. The difference between loose gravel (like at the mining pit) and the packed-down mix on unfinished roadways feels just right.
You definitely feel how much you've messed up if you have your rear wheels on the wrong material when you try to gun it out of a turn in a RWD. They made some of these audio changes in one of the last Forza 7 updates, but especially with my current sound config, it's unreal. I push everything other than SFX down by about fifteen percent, then push up the overall mix so you get more of a sense of materials hitting the car, or the little bumps and booms. It's insane how well optimized this game is on PC. I don't have access to my 1080p monitor at the moment so I connected my PC to my 4K TV after downloading the demo thinking I'll probably have to stick to 1080p or try 4k at low settings, so I booted up the game, switched to 4k, high preset (just for the giggles) and ran the benchmark.
My god the moment the benchmark starts, at native 4k with those graphics I had a 'jaw drops' moment, and to my surprise the game run at a smooth 30 FPS with a 970! I took the high preset and increased the motion blur to ultra, the MSAA to 4x, SSAO to high and some other tweaks that I can't recall right now and my god it still holds 30 FPS jesus I'm so surprised by how well it runs especially when comparing it to Horizon 3. Tried 1080p with the same settings and got a 60 FPS lock.

I'm definitely buying this game now! I'll probably stick to 1080p 60 FPS ultra on my monitor (Maybe I can bump the res a little for better IQ) and every now and then I'll hook it up to my 4k TV at 30 FPS just because it looks so amazing in 4k.
